Plansee’s improved beam shutter offers two substantial benefits compared to the OEM version (OEM# 7121-0017-0002).

Extended Life:

The cross-sectional thickness of the part that is worn by beam has been doubled. As a result, the part now lasts substantially longer than the OEM design.

Reduced Particle Contamination and Consistent Performance:

While the OEM part is made of impregnated (VGI) graphite, which exhibits dramatic particle performance drift over its usable lifetime, the Plansee enhanced part is made of Aperture Graphite, which has a very high density and very small grain size throughout the entire part, not just on the surface as with VGI, this high grade graphite will provide consistently high performance throughout the extended life of the part.
